How CHIP Web Onboarding Helps Platforms Seamlessly Onboard Merchant
Bringing merchants onto your platform should be simple, professional, and fully aligned with your brand. With CHIP Web Onboarding, platforms can allow merchants to register for a CHIP account directly within your own ecosystem, creating a smooth and integrated onboarding experience.
Seamless Merchant Onboarding Within Your Platform
CHIP Web Onboarding enables merchants to sign up for a CHIP account through a web form that can be embedded or linked from your platform. This removes friction in the onboarding process and allows merchants to get started with payment collection quickly.
Branded Experience with Dynamic DNS

To ensure a consistent brand experience, CHIP supports Dynamic DNS, allowing platforms to attach your own domain to the onboarding form hosted on CHIP’s infrastructure.
For example, instead of using a CHIP domain, the onboarding form could appear under a branded address such as:
kyb.merchant-platform.com
This means merchants see a familiar domain throughout the onboarding process, creating a more professional and trustworthy experience.
How It Works
Setting up Dynamic DNS is straightforward:
- Configure a domain verification record in your DNS settings.
- Create a CNAME record that points the domain to CHIP’s platform.
- Once configured, CHIP detects the incoming request from your DNS (Domain URL) and maps it to the correct onboarding form configuration.
To ensure security, CHIP automatically provisions SSL certificates, allowing the form to be accessed safely over HTTPS.
